Waitohu school Fancy Dress

Fancy Dress Dance!

On Wednesday Waitohu school was performing their fancy dress dance. The dance was located at Ngā Purapura (Ōtaki). There were a lot of  awesome costumes last night. Like Marshmello, Captain America, Pennywise, Donald Duck, Harry Potter, cowboys, ‘Holes’ characters, Black Panther, Superman, armyman and sports players. I was dressed up as team U.S.A (a basketball team).

 It started at 6։30. The first dance was by Room 1 and 11 dancing to theJiffy Mixer.  The next classes to perform were Rooms 2 and 10 doing the Bad Hair Day it was really cool. Now it was Rooms 7 and 8 performing the Gumboot Dance. It was really funny! After the Gumboot Dance it was Room 5 and 6, my sister was in room 5, dancing to Wake Me Up. That was a great performance. Now it was time for us, Room 4, to dance to Strip the Willow. It was so fun, it was even more fun when we did it with the parents! I didn’t do it with my parents, instead I did it with my cousin Ameia. After that it was Room 12 and 3 doing the Rodeo Dance.. it was awesome!

When all the dances were finished, we all got a little tub of vanilla ice cream🍨, it was delicious! Overall the fancy dress dance was absolutely stunning. My favourite dance was Room 3 and 12 dance.

Doug Dragster

Today we are reading Doug Dragster.  Doug is the man character. One of the activites says create yourself as a car🏎️ and that is what I have done here!

Basketball Tourement!

On Thursday the 22nd, of August Waitohu Celtics🍀 had a one day basketball 🏀tournament in Levin. Our first match  up was against poroutwhao. We obliterated them 26-4. Our team had two more games straight after another. The second game was facing Levin East Hawks. It was a really tough game, we only just one by 4 points! The Waitohu Celtics easily one the 3rd game by 30 points. After that game we had time off, we sat and ate some lunch 🍱🍩🍫🍟🍔.  We were in the semi-finals versing Foxton beach.  foxton beach was a good team but in the end the Waitohu Celtics won, we were going to the Finals! In the finals we were up against Levin Hornets🐝 the game was tight, but the Hornets won, just by four points. Waitohu Celtics came 2nd. After the game they presented the trophy and also the staff presented two MVP award (most valuable player) Me and Taylor Got MVP🏅. Overall, it was very fun!👍😃

Holes

KIA Ora in room4 we are reading holes. Holes is a story about this young kid named Stanley yelnats. Stanley has bad luck like really really bad luck (all because of his no good dirty rotten pig stealing great great grandfather). 

When Stanley's bad luck unfairly lands him standing at Camp Green Lake juvenile correction facility. Camp Green Lake is a very weird place that doe's not have any lake and is also not green. He and his camp mates Zigzag, Zero, Armpit, X-ray, Squid and Magnet are forced to dig holes day after day. In order to find a better character.
